[Zemo almost finds himself missing Bucky's weight and heat over him when he rolls to his back, but he doesn't quite chase after him right away. He folds an arm behind his head to pillow it, looking over at the other man.]

[He leans up to press a kiss to the corner of Bucky's lips before he's shifting up -- and off the bed.]

[Good time to give them both a breather, before things... cross lines they can't afford them to. Or shouldn't.

He takes a moment to refresh his glass of whiskey and take a sip or two before he retrieves the bottle and heads back to the bedroom.]

[ Bucky tries not to let his mind drift, but it's difficult without the constant distraction of Zemo next to him. Half the point of drinking was that he was lonely, missing Steve and the Howlies and a life he never really got to live fully. He hadn't bothered Sam because he has the boys and Sarah, and it's not worth bugging the guy this late with his woes. And sure, it's kind of shitty, but Zemo doesn't have anyone either really, outside of Oeznik. It made sense at the time to send drunk texts and flirt until he netted some company out of it.

But the empty bed, brief as is, just reminds him of how solitary he feels in the modern age, how out of place. It makes him miss Wakanda (a place he can't even visit right now due to the fuck-up over the very man he's waiting on to return).

Fortunately, Zemo is back before he's able to get too maudlin, and he sits up on his elbows when Zemo comes inside the bedroom. ]

More booze? I thought I'd hit my limit. At this rate, I'll be sleeping face-down on the floor in a puddle of my own drool.

[Zemo doesn't mind being a distraction of convenience. It isn't as if he has anyone else that regularly seeks out his company -- Oeznik, perhaps, but he demands enough of the man without taking away what time he has in his personal life.

And James is-- someone whose company he thoroughly enjoys, even if he doubts he's the smartest choice for the other man.

He shakes his head at the remark, coming to sit back on the edge of the bed.]

[There's a rather skeptical look at that. He doesn't believe it, but-- is James not entitled to his secrets now? Although there's part of Zemo that almost instinctively want to push.]

[The whiskey is put on the bed side table before Zemo shifts to lie back at Bucky's side, sliding a hand out to rest against Bucky's stomach, idly tracing his fingertips over the warm skin there.]

It's just generally, there is more of a reason to drink to such excess. I wanted to check in case.

[ It seems counterproductive to weigh the evening down with his baggage, so Bucky tries to divert away from that. ]

I don't think 'excess' is quite the same bar for people like me.

[He gives an acknowledging hmm at that.]

[It would have to be, as fast as his body would try to burn through it.

He leans up after a moment though, pressing a slow, lingering kiss on Bucky's lips.]
